Osteoarthritis is a degenerative diseases where there is increase in wear and tear of the joints which leads to pain, most commonly it affects the knee joint.

Causes of osteoarthritis:

Age : it is one of the important factor for causing osteoarthritis, As the age increases the bodily structure gets weakend

Obesity: Nowdays the lifestyle of the people is changing and becoming more sedentary which leads to obesity ,it increases the loading over the joint and causing osteoarthritis

Joints injury:Any major injury of surgical intervention might lead to osteoarthritis

Symptoms

  • Weakening or thinning of muscles

So, as the title says NECK PAIN, it is the pain which gives you discomfort. Do we even know that almost 50-70% of the people who do normal daily life activities suffer from neck pain and why is that? have we ever take closer look as why we suffer from the neck and upper back pain.

Here are some reasons which causes neck and upper back pain

1)Overuse of muscle: sometimes we do overwork which lead to neck pain.

2) Incorrect Posture: bad sitting habits can lead to overstrain the muscles in the neck and the upper back

3) osteoarthritis of joint: As the age increases our joints worn off which also lead to pain

4) Stress: These is main reason as people suffer from neck pain

•Here comes some tips to avoid the pain and reduce it

– Sit in a correct posture if you are working r studying on a desk try to maintain a good position , most of the discomfort in the body is because of our bad posture which lead to abnormal body mechanics and lead to pain

The shoulder should be relaxed,. feet, back and arm is to be supported

-Take a frequent breaks in every 1 hour so that the muscles in the neck will not be overstrained .

– Avoid tucking the mobile phone between neck and ear as talking on the phone in this position will creat overstrain on the neck

– Sleep in good position

•Here are some exercises:

1) Scapular retraction: sit on a chair relaxly hold your elbow at 90° to the body and then pull the shoulders back and down so that both the shoulder blades will come closer, Hold that position for 5-10 sec and then relaxed

2) Chin tucks: In these exercises sit on a chair put a finger on your chin and without moving that finger pull your head and chin straight back so that you will will feel a good stretch at the back of the neck head

3) Neck isometric exercises: These exercises are very easy but benificial to relive the pain

4) Trapezius stretching: People who do a lot of desk work tends to get pain I’m the upper back while here is the exercises which can help to reduce that discomfort

Place one hand at the back and other over the opposite side of the head and slowly start pulling the head down which will give you the stretch over the opposite side of the neck hold that position for 15 – 20 sec and do that exercises for 5-10 times

Why there is back pain, has anyone thought that why so many people suffer from back pain ? Why back pain is occuring in any age group weather they are teenager’s ,adults or old people, And after so much time I think no we have never thought why the pain and discomfort is occuring..

But the physical therapy there are solution to treat the back pain from its root cause… Just by changing your posture or just by sitting with proper support to the back and by doing some small exercises we can get relief from the pain isn’t it good just to move some of the body parts correctly and get rid of the pain rather than taking medications and suffering from there side effects

Here are some tips to avoid the back pain

1) Always try to sit with the proper back support and arm should rest on the arm rest if you are using a chair

2) When you have to sit for a long time during study or for a job , take a 5-10 min break and walk in the surroundings as these will reduce the stress over the back

3) While doing any work make a habit of stretching the back ,neck ,hand in every one hour so that the whole body will be relax and there will not be loading over the joints
